Strange things happen when you go to sleep lying on your back.
Only this time, I wasn't really sleeping. I somehow found myself in this halfway state, on the nexus between sleep and wakefulness, and everything was dark.
I distinctly remember thinking "This body is not me, I am consciousness". This thought rang through my mind in a continuous loop. The next thing I know, I was swimming through the blackness of my room, but it felt like I was somewhere else. I had strange auditory hallucinations; a robotic choral voice singing a distinct A chord (strangely, this has happened before), children laughing and a voice telling me not to try to hard to force the sensation, to relax and let go.
In the midst of this, my mind raced through a number of very different dream scenes almost like someone randomly flicking through TV stations. At the time, those dreams were very vivid, but I can't remember them now.
I woke from this feeling relaxed and calm, as I have done from all my past out of body experiences.
