Creepy kid

Yesterday afternoon, I fell asleep in the middle of the day and had a strange dream I can barely remember, however the one thing about it was that it featured a creepy, perpetually mute black infant boy who stood outside my bedroom window and just stared at me. At various points in the dream, I'd come back to the window from doing something else, and he was still there. Something about his eyes unsettled me. The dream ended when I went to open my back door because I finally wanted to go out and confront him (even though something told me he wasn't really human). When I opened the door, I woke with a start.

Magic Window

Now this one was interesting.

I had this dream in the early hours of this morning, and even though I struggle to remember the gist of it, I do remember one part where I was talking to a young man who claimed to be someone I know in real life, someone who isn't even a friend but a passing acquaintance (i.e. he knows somebody I know, I've only met him a couple of times and haven't seen him in years).

In spite of the above, he didn't even look like the person I knew him to be in real life, but said he recognised me in this "dream world" we were in and that he had something important to tell me.  He then went on to explain that dreaming occurred because of what is known as a "magic window" which opens when we sleep.  According to him, when this window opened, the conscious and subconscious switched places, with the latter dominating the former.  This, he informed me was what allowed dreamers to explore other worlds.  He also mentioned that sleep paralysis occurred when the dreamer had woken up, but the window was still open, which meant that the subconscious mind had not relinquished its control.  Additionally, the magic window was the key to meditation and other mystical experiences.

What's even more interesting is that prior to this dream, I'd had another in which someone was speaking to me about this same concept, but I don't remember it at all.  I just remembered that the magic window was spoken of.

Anyway, when I woke from the dream, I had a brief moment of sleep paralysis where I found myself staring at my ceiling.  I heard a voice in my mind tell me that my conscious mind was still dormant, my subconscious mind was struggling to remain active and this conflict was causing the episode.  I moved my head to look around my room and saw a transparent, shadowy figure run across the foot of my bed.  It looked like someone ducking and running as if they were trying to avoid being spotted by a camera.  I think I drifted back to sleep and woke up some time later.  During the whole time this was happening, I did not feel at all afraid.

It's been a little while since I've had a dream like this and I've been thinking about it all day.  In a way, the concepts expounded within seem to make sense on some level.

Worst pub ever

18th June 2012

I had this dream yesterday, but got round to writing about it today.  Sorry.

Anyway, in this dream, I was in a pub with some friends and we were getting some drinks.  My friends got theirs and I was left at the bar to wait for mine.  The woman behind the bar took my money, but I seemed to be waiting forever for the drink.

Eventually I was served something and walked off with it, but after one sip, I realised it wasn't what I'd ordered, so I went back and told them.  They took my drink and promised to give me what I'd originally asked for, but after what seemed like forever (and after lots of complaints), it never came.

That was pretty much the entire dream.
