As I said in my summary post below, it's a been a long time since I had a dream I could remember, but this morning I did.
I was in a shopping centre looking for a supermarket. However, it turned out that all the shops had been replaced by creches, and every time I went into what I thought was a shop, I saw lots of young children being minded by adults.
I was a little baffled and asked one of the adults what had happened. Interestingly, this particular creche was run by Christians who made it their duty to indoctrinate the kids in their care. I noticed bibles, crayons and children's colouring books all over the floor. I spoke to a tall, middle aged man who ran this creche and asked what happened to all the supermarkets. He confirmed they had all been replaced by creches like his (though not all of them were Christian). He was then about to use this as an opportunity to try and convert me, but could somehow sense I wasn't interested, so he left me alone.
I left the creche and walked outside where I saw a sign which read 'Spiritual Enlightenment This Way'. This caught my interest as I knew it was something deeper and more substantial than what the Christians were offering. I followed the sign and found myself descending a spiral staircase in what was looking less like a mall and more like an old school building.
My excitement grew as I reached the bottom, wanting to know what this enlightenment was. When I got to the bottom, I came across a wooden door that was ajar. I opened it and found another wooden door locked from the inside (I could see the lock mechanism on the door, but there was no handle). Disheartened, I realised I couldn't open the door and turned to leave, but the door behind me shut, and the previously locked door opened. I found myself in complete darkness then heard someone laughing.
Now, this would normally be eerie, but I wasn't afraid. I steeled myself as an inner voice (not audible, but within me) told me that this darkness was not to be feared, but embraced and understood for what it was. I then woke up.
For a while, I pondered on the meaning of this dream, but the more I think about that darkness and the effect it had, the more I think I understand the principle of the dream. We tend to view darkness as evil and foreboding, but this is not always so. Sometimes, darkness can represent the unknown, and this is what was happening. The laughter did unsettle me a little in the dream, but even then, I understood that laughter was not sinister, just something I did not yet understand.
Now I just need to apply this to my life somehow.

Summary
So, I haven't posted anything for a long, long time. This is mainly because I haven't had many dreams that I've remembered in detail since my last post. Not until now that is.
I don't even know who is reading this. The stats say I have visitors, but who you are and where you're from, I do not know. I don't even advertise this blog. It's really for my own personal musings, but it's cool that someone might stumble upon it. So if you're one such person reading this now, then "Hi". ;)
So, before I get into the new dream, I'll give a quick summary of the notable dreams I've had since my last post. As before, I don't really remember the details of these dreams (which is why I never recorded them in the first place), but they are worth summarising, so in no particular order, here they are.
1. Dreaming I was flying across an alien planet that seemed to consist entirely of three colours: a silvery, almost luminous grey, a luminous green and a very dark, inky black. The grass was this grey colour and swayed in the wind, the sky was black, and as I traversed this landscape, I found a building whose door was a large stone plinth. This was was also grey, with luminous green inscriptions. The door opened for me and I found myself walking along dark hallways flecked with green.
2. Staying at a hotel with my girlfriend in Ireland. We were the only two guests and the hotel was run down, dark and had no electricity. Oddly enough, there was looped music piped over a tinny PA system. This was after I learned some news which almost ended our relationship. As I write this, we are barely hanging on by a thread.
3. Flying over another alien planet whose population were humans like us, only their personalities were quite different. I was flying along a road, I couldn't read the signs as they were in an alien language. I flew into what looked like a car garage and found a woman hiding behind a car. Upon seeing me, she knew knew I was from the same place as her. She recognised me because, to use her words, I was "warm". Apparently the humans on this planet were cold, emotionless people who apparently lacked empathy.
4. An extremely disturbing dream where I was a spectator in a mental hospital (for some reason, those places give me the creeps even though I've never set foot inside one). The walls were blue, and the first thing I saw was a young black boy around 4 or 5. He was completely naked and kept putting his finger in his anus and putting it to his mouth as he had nothing to eat. His father was in the room with him across the way. He wore a metal cage-like brace over his head which was chained to the wall and spent the whole time rolling around on the bed and forth singing 'The Shoop Shoop Song" really badly. His voice was distorted like he was talking over the phone. He was clearly out of his mind and oblivious to his son. I woke from that dream feeling deeply perturbed.
5. I had been invited to a party in a large house in the middle of nowhere. In order to get to the house, I had to take a train and then an elevator to an underground tunnel that lead to the house. The house itself was very big, but the party took place on the ground floor, both inside the house and in the courtyard. I got out of the elevator with several other people who were also attendees, and we all went off and mingled when we got to the house. At one point, I found myself looking at staircase which lead to the first floor of the house. It looked dark and foreboding so I walked away and returned to the party. I then observed that the people were different. I saw one of the girls from the elevator, (a twentysomething black girl) and asked her if she noticed anything strange and when she looked at me, I noticed her canine teeth were longer than before and to my horror, noticed that everyone except me had turned into a vampire. I ran through the tunnel and made my way to the lift and back to the train. The dream ended with me realising there were also vampires on the train.
6. I was in the middle of a zombie apocalypse and had 3 other friends with me. We were trying to find somewhere safe to hide from the zombies as it was getting dark. We found a wooden shack in a field and went there for refuge. It was very dark, and two of my party kept making noise, so I decided to leave. The third guy (a good friend of mine IRL) followed me and we went off together looking for somewhere else as the dream ended.
