Escape

This is an interesting one.

It started with me in what looked like some kind of classy function room. There were several people there who were also guests and what appeared to be a party, however there was something not right about the whole siutation.

For one thing, I somehow knew that it wasn't a real party and that all the guests were in fact all there against their will, and that included me. Everyone there was drinking what looked like champagne, but from what I could gather, the drink was spiked. I took a few sips of my own drink before I realised this and decided not to drink any more. I stumbled around and asked other people if they were OK, but nobody else seemed to notice anything wrong. There was also one woman whom I passed that regarded me with a smirk, so I asked her if she thought all of this was funny, to which she simply replied "Yes". I suspect she was in collusion with the captors.

Anyway, by this point, I'd decided that I'd had enough, so I headed for the exit, which was left wide open. However, because of the spiked drink, my limbs felt heavy and I couldn't walk properly, but I persisted nonetheless. I stumbled out of the door and found myself looking at a descending staircase, which I followed all the way down. As I did, I heard voices behind me and knew I was being chased by my captors.

When I reached the bottom of the staircase, I was in a large room that looked like the ground floor of a disused warehouse. I was also mindful of the fact that I needed to hide somewhere fast because my pursuers were very close. I saw several stacks of plastic chairs by a wall and decided to hide behind those. Just then, two large, overweight men lumbered into the room. They were the ones who'd been sent to capture me.

They scanned the room looking for me, and one of them spotted me behind the chairs. As they approached, I held a chair aloft and threatened to hit the nearest man with it if he didn't back up. He started telling me to calm down, but I wouldn't listen and kept swinging the chair in his face so he had no choice but to back off a little. I then threw the chair through the nearest window and heard him scream out "NOOOO!".

I then dived out of the window and found myself in a courtyard. Not knowing quite where I was, but aware of the fact that I desperately had to escape, I started to run. The two fat men had crawled out of the window by this point and gave chase. Somehow, one of them was able to catch up with me; he grabbed my arms and told me I had to go back. I shook myself free and told him I wasn't going to, but he then told me that I couldn't leave anyway. So, they left me to wander to courtyard, knowing I couldn't go anywhere else.

Sometime later, I spotted a little Jack Russell dog that belonged to one of the men, and a voice told me that the dog was very valuable to one of those two men, and if I killed it, he would be too grief-stricken to restrain me and I'd be able to escape. Knowing this, I stamped on the dog's head as it approached me, and to finish it off, I picked it up by its hind legs and smashed its head against a pillar. I then left the carcass where it was and went to find the dog's owner.

Once I found the man, I told him that someone had killed his dog and, as I'd been "told", he was distraught but, for some reason didn't suspect me. Instead, he told me I had to find the dog's killer whom I told him had escaped into one of the buildings that joined onto the courtyard (this was a ruse on my part so I could get out). He seemed to believe me and said I was free to go and find the culprit, so I found myself climbing into the window of what looked like a kitchen. The people in the kitchen were reluctant to let me in at first because they just thought I was trying to escape the courtyard, but I told them I'd been granted permission in search of a dog killer and they were satisfied with my story and let me in.

The dream ended here as I realised that escape was merely inches from my grasp.
