My fiancée and I were staying at a house somewhere. I think we were on holiday or something, but I can’t remember.
Anyway, the house itself was large and there were many other guests there. The décor was very 70s, with browns and sickly creams and coarse, ugly patterns as far as the eye could see. Everything was also very old looking and dusty.
The people who owned the house were incredibly eccentric and creepy, as were the other guests. At one point, I was talking with a woman who was a student, and she was telling me about some of the books she was reading for her course. Later on, she accused me of stealing her books and made me open my bag in front of other people, which I was happy to do as I knew I hadn’t taken them. She was then very shamefaced, but I was indignant because of her accusation and gave her a hard time about it. A friend of mine from real life then showed up, wanting to know what the commotion was and I told him what had happened. I then learned that the woman was his sister (he does have a sister IRL but she doesn’t look anything the woman in this dream). He wanted me to go easy on her, but I wasn’t having it.
Later on, I learned that the owners of this house intended to keep us all captive but I told my fiancée that I was going to find a way to get us out of there and started looking for a way to escape.
I eventually managed to sneak out through a back door which led to a beach with people swimming in the sea. Continuing the 70s theme, the scene looked grainy and saturated like old 8mm film footage.
I gingerly crept away from the house, walked across a rocky outcrop and found myself looking at some other houses that bordered the beach area. I had a feeling the people from the house would be coming to look for me so I flew off into the air, flew over the houses and into a field on the other side. I knew I’d left my fiancée behind, but I’d intended to come back with a party to rescue her. The dream ended as I landed in the field on the other side of the beach, narrowly avoiding two busses that were riding past and skidded to avoid hitting me.
