A two part dream

This dream is somewhat epic in that I woke up in the middle and it continued after I went back to sleep.  My recollection of it is somewhat patchy now, but I'll record what I do remember along with the general gist of the dream itself.

It took place in an area that I remember from past dreams.  In it, I'd had a serious argument with my girlfriend (who was not the same as my girlfriend IRL), and exacted revenge my controlling an army of dolls that were to crawl through her windows and letterbox and get into her house.  Anyway, I walked through the streets with my army of dolls behind me and then turned a corner and noticed lots of police cars patrolling the neighbourhood I was in.  I saw police knocking on people's doors and asking for me by name.  For some reason, I decided to do the honest thing and approach the police officers and tell them who I was.  Upon doing this, they looked gravely at me, and one of the officers said "This is really awkward, but I'm afraid we're going to have to take you in.  You've committed what is probably one of the most serious crimes in the matrix".  Yes, he said "in the matrix".

Now, don't know what crime I had actually committed.  I also knew they weren't referring to the doll army thing either, but I was baffled by this and also horrified that I was in so much trouble.  I woke up feeling very anxious, and I knew that the dream would continue when I went back to sleep.

...and it did.

In the second part, I'd somehow managed to elude to police and was on the run.  At one point, I was at a party somewhere and a man approached me, took me to one side and started asking me some questions; he asked me if I spoke some other language and another question I can't remember.  As this was happening, my sister approached and pulled me away from the man who skulked off into the background and muttered something into a dictaphone.  My sister, it turns out knew what was going on with me and was trying to help.  She pointed out that the man was an undercover cop.

Later in the dream, my sister helped me get into a car and told me I had to go back to my place, pack some necessities and try to skip town.  I got into the car she had arranged for me (I can't remember who drove, but it wasn't me) and it drove me to my place (having driven through the streets passing police cars that were looking for me).

I eventually got to my place and started packing some things into a rucksack in preparation for my escape.  I then woke up.

This dream left me with a very strange feeling.  I'm not sure what it was trying to tell me yet.
